Privacy Policy
How Check Yourself handles your information.
This policy describes how Check Yourself (“the app”), published by Cory Rupert (“I”, “me”), handles information. It applies to the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch apps.

Who I am
Check Yourself is an independent workout planner. I do not operate my own servers for this app. Questions: coryrupert@gmail.com.
What the app stores
Check Yourself stores information you enter while using it, including:
- Workout plans (names, icons, schedules, duration, and day/workout details)
- Whether a plan was generated or edited with Apple Intelligence
- Scheduled workout dates, completion status, and optional notes
- Photos you attach to a workout
- Quick Tasks (one-off items with a due date)
- Optional reminder times for plans and Quick Tasks
- Home screen widget order
You can also import a plan from a CSV file you choose on your device. That file is read locally and is not uploaded to me.
Where it is stored
This data is saved on your device. If iCloud is enabled for the app, the same data is synced to your private iCloud (CloudKit) so it can appear on your other Apple devices, including Apple Watch.
I cannot see, access, or share the contents of your private iCloud database. Apple provides that storage under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
Photos
You can attach photos to a workout by choosing them from your photo library. Those images are stored with that day’s workout on your device, and in your private iCloud if sync is on.
I do not receive your photos. The app does not require camera access; you only add pictures you choose.
Notifications
If you turn on a daily reminder for a plan, or a reminder on a Quick Task, the app schedules a local notification on your device. Those reminders are optional. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
Silent push notifications are used only to wake the app so iCloud sync can run in the background. They are not marketing messages.
Apple Intelligence
On iOS 26 or later, you can describe a plan in plain language and have Apple Intelligence fill in the days, or edit an existing plan the same way. This uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models.
Your prompt and the generated plan stay on your device (and in your private iCloud if sync is on). I do not receive your prompts or the plans Apple Intelligence creates.
The feature is optional. It needs an eligible device, Apple Intelligence turned on, and the on-device model available. If any of those are missing, the app will say so and you can still build or import a plan yourself.
Apple provides Apple Intelligence under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
What I do not collect
Check Yourself does not:
- Create an account or ask for your name, email, or password
- Use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs
- Read from or write to Apple Health (HealthKit)
- Sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing
Apple services
The app uses Apple services that may process information under Apple’s control:
- iCloud / CloudKit — optional sync of your workout data, including notes, photos, Quick Tasks, and reminder settings
- Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models — optional on-device plan generation and editing
- User Notifications — optional local reminders you turn on
- Silent push notifications — used only to wake the app so iCloud sync can run in the background
- In-App Purchases — an optional yearly subscription, billed by Apple. I do not receive your payment card details.
Your choices
- Turn off iCloud for Check Yourself in iOS Settings to stop syncing new data to iCloud.
- Turn off Apple Intelligence in iOS Settings if you do not want on-device plan generation.
- Turn off notifications for Check Yourself, or disable reminders in the app.
- Delete photos from a workout, or delete the workout or plan.
- Delete the app to remove data stored on that device.
- Manage or delete iCloud data using Apple’s iCloud settings.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings.

Children
Check Yourself is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will post the updated version at this URL and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
